At Blue Willow, we’re more than just a team of hairstylists. We’re a family, and we want you to feel like part of it the moment you walk through our doors. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the stylists behind the chair, every member of our team is here to make you feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Our receptionists help set the tone with warm greetings and genuine hospitality, while our stylists are passionate about creating beautiful, personalized looks that make you feel your best. We’ve created a space that feels more like home than a salon; relaxed, inviting, and full of good energy.
Shellie Bodnar
Salon Owner
Shellie is the owner and founder of Blue Willow Hair Group. She has been a hairstylist in Okotoks for 30 years, Aveda-trained for 15 years, and opened Blue Willow in 2018. Shellie is dedicated and passionate about hair, as well as her guests. When she is not in the salon working, she enjoys being outside and active, hiking with friends.Shellie has continued to do hair throughout most of her life, and she still absolutely loves it (and you can tell). She is highly experienced and loves keeping up with the newest trends and education, all while making sure you glow from the inside out.
Jayda Smith
Senior HairStylist
Jayda is a senior stylist who is Aveda-trained. She is passionate about making people feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside!Jayda specializes in colour, blondes, and balayage, and has over six years of experience.In her free time, she enjoys expressing her creativity through art and loves attending any sports event.Jayda has a super fun and light energy. She embraces her artistry and truly loves what she does.
Kaitlyn Gibbs
Senior Stylist/Frontline Coordinator
Kaitlyn is a licensed hairstylist who is Red Seal certified, as well as Aveda and Sassoon-trained. Kaitlyn adores everything hair. Whether she’s creating a beautiful balayage, executing stylish cuts, or adding vibrant colours and highlights, she thrives on seeing her guests feel their best. When she’s not behind the chair, you can find her enjoying life with her boyfriend, swimming, hitting the slopes for some skiing, or building her latest LEGO creation. Kaitlyn has a warm, sweet presence, and it’s easy to see how passionate she is about making you feel amazing with a fresh new style.
Kate Davis
Apprentice/frontline
Kate is an Apprentice and Receptionist at Blue Willow. She attended the Aveda Institute in Provo, Utah, where she completed her hairstyling education and built a strong foundation in the craft. Passionate about all things hair, she loves helping people feel confident, beautiful, and like the best version of themselves. Kate is excited to continue building her skills and education as she grows in the industry.
Outside the salon, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, relaxing at the lake, going for walks, and unwinding with her favourite TV shows and movies. She thrives on connection, and nothing makes her happier than sharing laughter and bringing joy to others.

Eva Frank
Receptionist
Eva is Blue Willow’s Saturday girl and can be found at the front desk on weekends. She has always had an eye for beauty and enjoys being part of the vibrant salon environment. Eva brings a warm, welcoming presence to the team and is always ready to help clients feel at home. Outside of the salon, she spends her time playing volleyball, baking sweet treats, starting new sewing projects, and getting lost in a good book.
